Other states
Each Australian state has its own Residential Tenancies Act with different sections, notice periods, tribunals, and reform timelines. Doing a state properly means re-learning the law, re-verifying every citation, and re-testing every output. We'd rather be deeply right in one state than averaged across six.
New South Wales
LiveFully supported. Residential Tenancies Act 2010 (NSW), current at the 19 May 2025 reforms.
Victoria
Q3 2026 targetNext state up. Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (Vic). VCAT-jurisdiction equivalent of NCAT. Targeting late-2026 release.
Queensland
Q1 2027 targetResidential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 (Qld). RTA + QCAT jurisdiction. Following VIC.
ACT
Q2 2027 targetResidential Tenancies Act 1997 (ACT). ACAT jurisdiction. Smaller cohort, more time per case.
WA, SA, TAS, NT
2027+Lower-volume markets. Will follow once the four-state core (NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT) is stable.
If you're in a state we don't cover yet, please contact the relevant state-based tenant union — they're free, they're excellent, and they're the right resource:
- VIC — Tenants Victoria · 03 9416 2577 · tenantsvic.org.au
- QLD — Tenants Queensland · 1300 744 263 · tenantsqld.org.au
- ACT — Tenants' Union ACT · 02 6247 1026 · tenantsact.org.au
A note on timing
I'm one person finishing a Law degree at USYD while building this. Some things on the ‘next 3–6 months’ list will move faster, some will slip. Multi-state especially — getting VIC tenancy law right is months of work I won't cut corners on. The honest answer is: I'm moving as fast as I can without breaking the ‘0 fabricated section numbers’ promise. Thank you for being patient.
